At Ampcontrol, we’re solving the most complex problems in energy by collaborating with our customers and partners to challenge the future and help make global net zero a reality.
Our Approach to Sustainability
We have more than half a century of innovation and a commitment to supporting our people and communities. As the industry needs to change, Ampcontrol always seeks to adapt its practices to meet customer needs.
Ampcontrol has been developing a strong culture of sustainability. We seek to embrace long-term thinking, balancing our economic, social, and environmental objectives to be a thriving organisation well into the future.
We’re committed to finding a balance between the people, planet, and profit that is bearable, equitable, and viable. This is our vision of sustainable business.
Sustainable Development
We’ve adopted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of our broader sustainability program focus. We have six priority goals we focus on and have developed action plans around, where we can have the most impact.
Net Zero Goals
An interim target of 60% reduction of absolute greenhouse emissions by 2030 from a 2020 baseline.
Quarterly measurements and reporting of operational emissions to ensure delivery against targets is on track.
Our sustainable manufacturing
In leading the global energy revolution towards net zero, we have established a set of key initiatives and actions across our sites, facilities and equipment, incorporating decarbonisation efforts into our manufacturing processes. These include:
The widespread rollout of rooftop solar PV on Ampcontrol operating sites and facilities.
The transition to renewable electricity purchases for Ampcontrol operating sites and facilities by 2025.
Energy efficiency and smart energy projects including LED lighting upgrades, equipment power monitoring and use of batteries to optimise our electricity usage.
The staged transition of Ampcontrol vehicle fleet, including passenger vehicles, utilities, and heavy vehicles to electric/renewable fuel sources.
The adoption of Australia’s 2025 National Packaging Targets, the program managed by the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO).
- Creating our own hex wrap from recovered cardboard packaging has reduced the amount of single-use plastic packaging.
